The mission statement of a company answers the question, “Why does the company exist?” In addition to this, the mission statement should also answer the questions ‘does what,’ ‘to whom’, and ‘for what benefits’. A good mission statement should describe the products and services that the company offers. It should also provide an adequate description of the target market that the company serves. Additionally, the mission statement describes how the company will be able to provide these services. It outlines the benefits that customers will derive from using the company’s products as opposed to that of competitors.
