Soft Skills and Emotional Inteligence

Soft skills and emotional intelligence are important to one’s career development. Soft skills refer to an individual’s ability to form relationships with others, communicate effectively and work together with people amicably. Three years after I graduate I will need to develop my soft skills to advance in my career.

I will identify the soft skills that are relevant for my career advancement and make improvement in the relevant areas. It is not enough to only have hard skills in the modern work environment.

In any career, it is essential to have some soft skills to make the hard skills valuable. Examples of soft skills include; teamwork, problem solving, negotiation, conflict resolution, time management and ability to work under pressure.
