Rescue of the Chilean Miners

   On August 5th 2010, the walls of a tunnel in a gold mine in the Atacama Desert, Chile, caved in. It trapped 33 miners 700 meters underground where they had been working. The rescue mission took 69 days since the rocks covering the tunnel passage were heavy. However, all 33 of the miners were rescued alive. This accident was considered by international experts to be very serious due to three reasons.
